Thank you to all the volunteers that make Hawks View a great place! Your interest in our children's education is priceless!
Volunteer Expectations at Hawks View Elementary:
We believe that the adults in school should be positive role models. The following is a list of basic expectations that we would request of our volunteers. It is intended to give general guidelines that will contribute to maintaining a safe, responsible and respectful learning environment.
A Hawks View Volunteer:
Completes an annual background check
Attends any specialized trainings as requested by a teacher
Keeps their time commitment
Checks in at the office upon arrival to the school
Dresses appropriately for all occasions
Abstains from using any course language
Refers all disciplinary matters to paid staff
Supports students with positive and encouraging comments
Is never alone with an individual student
Reports any troubling comments to that child's teacher
Maintains the highest degree of confidentiality
Is aware of their surroundings, including escape routes in emergency situations
Does not bring preschool aged students to the classroom volunteer activity, unless approved by the classroom teacher
